My Cato
​
My is a very versatile central midfielder who can play box to box, defensive, and offensive mid equally well. We started working with her during a tough 2018 for the young talent. She missed part of the season with mono, and when she came back the coaches were favoring the older midfielders with more routine than 16-year old My. She worked hard to get into the starting XI, and 2019 was all hers. She led her state team to the National Champions title (MVP in the final) and got selected to play her first game for Sweden, against Iceland. She came off the bench in minute 68 and made an assist right away in a game that Sweden won by 3-1. Next game against Norway she played all 93 minutes.
In 2020 she switched both teams, city, and school halfway through high school, to play for Elitettan team Kvarnsvedens IK. A big transition that she coped with well, but the season didn´t go as planned for the team. The expected top team ended up being relegated down to div.1, which meant she was free to break the contract. After lots of interest and lots of thinking, she joined one of the giants in Swedish women´s football. Linköping FC secured the Norrköping native on a 3-year deal.

My did not see any playing time in Linköping during the first half of the season and had the second part ruined by a concussion. During winter break the decision was made to start fresh "at home" in IFK Norrköping - a club that had climbed one league since Cato last played for the team.
Back home to Norrköping
Coming back home meant going down one league. But My took one step back and propelled 2 steps forward as a result.

She started every game in the 2022 season, and helped her hometown team go up to the Swedish top league - for the first time in history!
​
She even became top goal scorer with her 8 goals, even though she played on the central midfield.
Youngest captain in Allsvenskan
In 2023, her debut season in Allsvenskan, she was selected captain of Norrköping.
Meaning, at only 20 years old she became the youngest one in the whole league to carry the "C" around her left arm.

​
The newcomers kept their spot in the top league and My became, once again, the best goalscorer of her team with 7 goals.
